Barcelona reveals Suarez's shirt number

Luis Suarez has been allocated the No.9 shirt at Barcelona after his 88 million euro summer transfer from Liverpool was confirmed on Friday.

The striker wears the number when he is on international duty with Uruguay, but this will be the first time he has taken the shirt at club level since emerging on the world stage.

While at Ajax, Suarez was the No. 16 before being given the famous No. 7 shirt at Anfield, after joining Liverpool in January 2011.

Replica jerseys with the player’s name and number are already on sale at Camp Nou and the club are expecting a surge of interest from supporters.

Suarez scoops the No. 9 shirt which was previously worn by Chile star Alexis Sanchez, who himself has been involved in a big-money move this week, having finalized his €40 million transfer to Arsenal.

A star-studded Barca forward line will see Suarez team up with Lionel Messi - who wears No. 10 - and Brazil star Neymar (No. 11). It is an array of high-profile talent that will have Barca’s marketing department licking their lips in anticipation.

Suarez, who is currently suspended from all football-related activity until the end of October, scored 82 goals in 133 matches in all competitions for Liverpool and will add significant firepower for new coach Luis Enrique when he returns from his four-month ban for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.

As well as bringing in Suarez, Barca has signed midfielder Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla this summer, as well as two goalkeepers – Claudio Bravo and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

The Croatian will wear the No.4 shirt vacated by Cesc Fabregas while shot stoppers Bravo and Ter Stegen have been allocated No. 13 and No. 1 respectively.

Nudefest 2014: Naked visitors wearing backpacks and sandals turn up to aquarium

Metro-Visitors to an aquarium in Newquay became the attraction after they turned up naked as part of a nudist festival.

The ten bare bottomed guests walked around the Blue Reef Aquarium in Cornwall wearing nothing but their backpacks and sandals as part of this year’s Nudefest.

Despite the centre being a ‘family attraction’ no unsuspecting members of the public seemed to have gotten an eyeful of the nudists.

Nudefest is a well-established and hugely popular event in the naturist calendar and we are delighted to have returned to Cornwall this year,’ said Andrew Welch of British Naturism.

‘Guests were very excited by the prospect of a nude trip to one of Cornwall’s most popular tourist destinations.’

As well as viewing the sharks, stingrays and other underwater life at the aquarium, the nudists also enjoyed scuba diving and fishing during their week-long stay at the nearby Newperran Holiday Park.

University professor strips down to his pants in class for an impromptu striptease to ‘motivate students’

Teachers are always trying to find new ways to engage their students with their subject.

But this overenthusiastic university professor is now being investigated after stripping down to his underwear during a lecture.

Dr Ian Lamond, 51, an events management lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University, started taking off his clothes in an effort to make a point about how to give an exciting sales pitch.

But the move appears to have backfired after bemused students tweeted pictures of the striptease, prompting the university to launch an investigation.

Photos uploaded to social media show Dr Lamond taking off his trousers and shirt and standing in front of the class in a pair of grey underpants.

He is then pictured sitting down and shaving.

Students in the lecture tweeted their surprise at Dr Lamond’s antics.

A video of the incident was also posted online, in which students can be heard laughing as Dr Lamond parades around the front of the lecture hall holding his clothes.

The university has not suspended Dr Lamond but he is being investigated and could face a dressing down by his bosses.

According to the MailOnline,Dr Lamond recently wrote of the ‘voracious curiosity and performer’ in him on a careers website.

You’ve probably seen these images before. In fact, since the video of Renee Talley’s botched bum job was uploaded onto YouTube at the end of 2012, it’s been viewed by millions across the world, so chances are you have.

Now, the former Vegas stripper has appeared on E!’s Botched! show (lots of exclamation marks required, obvs), speaking out about the gruesome video and the risks involved in that type of surgery.

Talley tells E! that the surgery has left her scarred in more ways than one: ‘I don’t really look in the mirror at myself anymore because I’m not happy with the way my butt looks,’she says.

She started trying to alter her rear view back in 2010, admitting she wanted a little junk back in her trunk: ‘I wanted the volume and the fullness back at the top of my butt,’ she says.

But within six months of having silicone injections, she began to suffer pain and sensitivity in her behind, as well as stomach issues. An MRI scan confirmed her worst fears - the silicone had spread up her back and down her legs, resulting in autoimmune disease.

She had the silicone removed but blames her own vanity for the decision to immediately have an implant inserted in its place. This second ill-advised surgery resulted in those now infamous movable implants. And that viral video.

Renee accepts she brought it all on herself but hopes her horror vid will make others think very carefully before opting for this type of drastic surgery, because ‘If you ruin it, you can’t go back and fix it.’

Mother stabs French teacher to death in front of students

A female teacher was stabbed to death on Friday in front of her pupils at a primary school in the southern French town of Albi by a student’s mother, who was immediately detained.

“This morning, a mother showed up with a knife and stabbed a 34-year-old teacher in front of her students, for reasons that will be determined by the investigation,” Albi prosecutor Claude Derens told AFP.

“When I arrived at the scene they were trying to revive her. She was in cardiac arrest in her classroom,” he said.

President Francois Hollande immediately sent Education Minister Benoit Hamon to the school to take charge of the government response.

“All state services will be mobilised to take care of these children and the staff who witnessed this awful tragedy,” Hollande said in a statement.

The stabbing took place as morning classes began at Albi’s Edouard Herriot primary school, which is attended by 284 students aged from 3 to 11.

No further details were immediately available and a press conference was planned for Friday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Hamon said he was on his way to the school to show his support, saying the education minister “is deeply shocked by this crime, which plunges the end of the school year into mourning”.

“This tragedy confirms there is a need to fight against violence in and around schools, to protect schools, teachers and students.”

The incident comes amid concerns in France over assaults by parents on teachers, with a study released in April saying nearly half of primary school principals had been verbally or physically abused by parents.

Though sources say the girl took part in the sex game for a bottle of Cava, Reece later speculated that the girl was promised an exotic holiday – that promptly turned out to be the name of a cocktail.

Thousands took to Twitter to comment on the video.

Liverpool appear to be in a two-horse race with Bayern Munich for the services of Xherdan Shaqiri, with the Swiss international set to choose between a new deal at the Allianz and a switch to Anfield.

The Reds are keen on Shaqiri, who has been offered an improved contract by Bayern, and are reportedly the only outsiders interested in his signature this summer.

Shaqiri has impressed at the World Cup for Switzerland, but struggled to hold down a regular place in Pep Guardiola’s side last season, as he is seen as a long-term replacement for Franck Ribery by the club.

The wannabe model, who has suffered with Crohn’s disease for more than 20 years, has received nearly 200,00 likes and over 10,000 comments on Facebook for the photo which shows her on holiday in a black bikini with two of the synthetic pouches on her stomach.

She said: ‘I’m just so glad that it’s brought about more awareness of Crohn’s disease and it’s made me feel so much more confident about the colostomy bags.

‘If I can inspire or help other people in my position to feel a little more comfortable in their own skin then I’m really happy.’

Bethany, from Worcester, said she only gained the confidence to show off her body –bags and all –after getting married last Christmas to her husband Ian Townsend.

She told MailOnline: ‘When I met Ian I showed him my bags straight away, but he didn’t bat an eye lid –I actually felt like I was over-reacting.’

Bethany’s bags were fitted after her bowel ruptured in 2010, nearly killing her, and she also caught MRSA during a hospital stay.

She’s had to have more than 16 inches of her bowel removed, and may have to have a transplant if the NHS refuse to fund a drug from overseas.

Crohn’s is a disease which affects 115,000 people in the UK and causes inflammation of the digestive system, in severe cases part of the intestines have to be removed and a stoma (surgically created opening in the abdomen) and colostomy bag used.

But after three years, Ms Montenegro took the leap into the world of escorting – working mostly in Melbourne.

Later in her career, as she ‘worked up the ladder’, she expanded her services to all over Australia and other parts of the world where escorting was legal.

One 17-year-old girl fell off a construction site and became impaled on three steel rods used to reinforce concrete.

The teenager was on the roof of the building when she fell.

The Indian girl underwent a ten hour ordeal before they were able to cut the metal rods without jarring the metal going through.

Miraculously the rods missed every major organ when they passed through her.

After being rushed by ambulance to Ruban Palitputra Hospital in Patna in North East Indian, she underwent another 5 hours of surgery before the metal could be fully removed.

Her doctors have declared the surgery a success and they informed the press she is now recuperating.

Close shave does not quite describe how near this teenager brushed with death.

Student ‘expelled from primary school for copying Luis Suarez bite’

A child of seven faces being expelled from primary school for copying Luis Suarez’s World Cup bite attack, it was reported last night (FRIDAY).

Liverpool fan Harvey Eaglen apparently got in trouble in Lowestoft, Suffolk, after seeing the Uruguay striker try to take a chunk out of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.

The bite-sized youngster is said to have sunk his teeth into a classmate’s wrist as they played football in the playground.

Harvey told teachers it was “what footballers do”. He was banned from the pitch and had his breaktimes cancelled for the rest of the day at Poplars Community School

Harvey is on his final warning, meaning he will be expelled if he gets in trouble again.

FIFA has banned Suarez, 27, from all forms of football for four months and suspended him for nine international games over the incident.

Nigerian singer offers virginity to Boko Haram in exchange for kidnapped schoolgirls

A Nigerian pop singer has gained widespread attention across social media after she offered her virginity to Boko Haram in exchange for the return of kidnapped schoolgirls.

Adokiye, 23, made the offer to the Islamic militants in an effort to help free 276 Nigerian girls taken in April from mostly-Christian Chibok in the north-east part of the country.

In an interview with Nigerian paper Vanguard,the singer, who is also a UN Ambassador of Peace, said: ‘This is 11pm in the night and do you know what I am thinking about?

‘Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them.’

She added: ‘They are too young. I wish I could offer myself in exchange.

‘Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don’t care.’

The #BringBackOurGirls campaign has garnered widespread support from members of the public and high-profile names like David Cameron, but Adikoye’s comments polarised Twitter users.

Some called her offer ‘brave’ and ‘selfless’, but other users believed that, at best, her comments were thoughtless and insincere and, at worst, a shameless publicity stunt.

Was Instagram right to delete a mum’s account after she uploaded this picture?

A baby blogger who posted a photo of her toddler daughter on Instagram had her account shut down after the photo-sharing website deemed the snap ‘inappropriate’.

Last week the Courtney Adamo from north London posted a picture of her 18-month-old Marlow to her blog for boutique Babyccino Kids,which has tens of thousands of followers.

It shows Marlow holding up her dress to reveal her belly.

But the following day the mum of four received an email from Instagram stating the image was inappropriate and was removed.

Defiant Courtney re-posted the photo, and to her surprise the account was disabled

At the time she wrote on her blog: ‘I never, ever, ever would have thought that posting this photo of Marlow would lead to this.

‘Instagram has deleted four years of my family photos and memories.’

Instagram re-activated her account after a social media storm.

A spokesman for the site said: ‘We try hard to find a good balance between allowing people to express themselves creatively and having policies in place to protect young children.

‘This is one reason why our guidelines put limitations on nudity, but we recognize that we don’t always get it right. In this case, we made a mistake and have since restored the account.’

Pastor claims God told him to impregnate his church members

A pastor in Enugu has been arrested for allegedly impregnating 20 members of his church.

The accused,Timothy Ngwu, is the General Overseer of Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity, located at Ihe/Owerre, Nsukka in Enugu State, Nigeria.

According to reports, the pastor claimed to be obeying prophetic orders from the spiritual realm to “do the will of God” – which is to impregnate any one “chosen and revealed by the Holy Spirit” whether or not the woman is married.

Ngwu’s wife is said to have reported her husband’s indecent acts to police authorities, leading to his arrest.

It was further revealed that while acting under the same alleged “will of God,” the pastor also impregnated his wife’s niece.

Reacting to the allegations levelled against him, Ngwu reportedly stated that he has about five wives with thirteen children, apart from other “concubines”, who were given to him by God.

He also insisted that he does not have sexual affairs with any married woman “until full consent and agreement is reached between him and the husband in line with the directives of the Holy Spirit.”

After getting impregnated by the pastor, numerous married women from his congregation left their husbands and went to live with him.

Dog-eating festival goes ahead despite heavy protests

Animal activists swooped in and bought as many dogs as possible before they were eaten at a controversial festival in China.

The festival, which has been around for centuries, takes place in the city of Yulin around the summer solstice every year.

Live dogs are caged and bought by those partaking.

The animals are later slaughtered and eaten.

But protesters have been slowly gathering for weeks in a bid to stop the festival.

They pounced on cages and bought as many dogs as they could afford.

Around 2,000 dogs were thought to have bee consumed on Saturday.
